 Deep Shadow Maps Using DirectX11

PR, DA

Oliver Mattausch,

Description
The goal of this project is to efficiently implement the deep shadow map algorithm using novel DirectX11 features. This algorithm computes realistic shadowing in participating media like clouds or high-frequency geometry like hair. It has been successfully used in production rendering since many years. The new hardware features allow efficient GPU implementation and possibly real-time frame rates.

Task
The student creates a DirectX11 framework for rendering deep shadow maps.

Requirements
The students should have knowledge of C++ and graphic APIs (OpenGL, DirectX).

Environment
C++, Visual Studio, DirectX
